Spaghetti Ice Cream (Spaghettieis) is a fun German dessert that looks like a plate of spaghetti but is actually made of vanilla ice cream, strawberry sauce, and white chocolate or coconut shavings! It was invented in the 1960s in Mannheim, Germany, by Dario Fontanella, an Italian-German ice cream maker.
How It’s Made:
Ice Cream “Noodles” – Vanilla ice cream is pushed through a potato ricer or a special Spaghettieis press to create noodle-like strands.
Tomato “Sauce” – Strawberry sauce is drizzled over the ice cream to resemble marinara.
Parmesan “Cheese” – White chocolate shavings or grated coconut are sprinkled on top.
Extra Toppings – Some versions add whipped cream at the bottom for fluffiness or a Ferrero Rocher to resemble a meatball.
It’s a fun and delicious treat! Have you ever tried it, or are you looking to make some? 😊
