In our opinion, the only thing Repicci’s Real Italian Ice and Gelato has in common with ice cream, frozen yogurt, and shaved ice is the chilly temperature.
Italian Ice-There are not enough words to describe the distinct differences between Repicci’s Real Italian Ice and flavored shaved ice commonly used in sno-cones. For starters, our Italian Ice is manufactured with consistent flavor, ensuring the same refreshing, delicious taste from the first bite to the last. When you buy a sno-cone, your flavor depends on where the thick, sugary syrup drips after it’s poured over the ice. And, because we aren’t pouring flavors as we go, you can sample our product before you buy it.
Gelato-Even though they both belong to the ice cream category, gelato (and its lesser counterpart, gelati) are substantially different. Authentic gelato differs from ice cream in that it has lower air content, meaning a more intense flavor. Gelato has a lower fat content, resulting in a frozen treat that is healthy, nutritious and wholesome.
